Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round - Designs

The Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round, Scarborough, was the company’s second home built on the ground floor of a former school. It opened on 26 October 1976 following a 60 day conversion of the school to theatre.
The main theatre held 308 seats whilst the smaller end-stage studio space held 70 seats. The Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round was designed by Scarborough architect, George Alderson.
